The Transport Students Association of the Department of Transport Planning and Management at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki extends its warmest congratulations to Engr. Seyi Makinde on his successful re-election and inauguration as the Governor of Oyo State.

The association wholeheartedly applauds Governor Makinde’s victory, which serves as a testament to his exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of the state. As students pursuing studies in transport planning and management, we have closely observed Governor Makinde’s dedication to improving the transportation infrastructure in Oyo State during his first term. His visionary approach and relentless efforts in this regard have been instrumental in enhancing mobility, connectivity, and efficiency within the state.

Meanwhile, we also express our deep appreciation for the opportunities that Governor Makinde’s administration has afforded students in the field of transport, particularly in the crucial areas of curriculum development and accreditation. The Governor’s support in financing the drafting of the curriculum for the Higher National Diploma (HND) programme in Transport Planning and Management, as well as sponsoring the curriculum’s national critique in Kaduna, has been invaluable.

Furthermore, the financial backing provided for the accreditation of our programmes, including the notable achievement of full accreditation for the National Diploma (ND) programme and resource accreditation for the HND programme, has instilled hope among all ND transport graduates aspiring to pursue the HND programme in Nigerian polytechnics.

This level of support is unparalleled in the history of transport education and training in Nigeria. We are truly grateful for the Governor’s unwavering support, which has paved the way for a brighter future for transport students in Oyo State and Nigeria. As eager beneficiaries, we humbly request the continued support of the Governor in key areas that remain crucial to our academic development. Specifically, we seek assistance in procuring additional instructional equipment, establishment of traffic information laboratory, recruiting more academic staff, and acquiring a 60-seater study trip bus for the Association. Just like Oliver Twist, we believe that with the Governor’s support in these endeavors, the earning experiences of our members would be more enriching.

The Transport Students Association, along with our Department led by Dr. Akanmu Ademola not only pledges its unwavering support to Governor Makinde’s second term in office, but also eager to emphasize our preparedness to support and collaborate with the Oyo State Government in whatever capacity is deemed suitable.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Engr. Seyi Makinde on his well-deserved re-election as Governor of Oyo State. May his second term be marked by progress, prosperity, and remarkable achievements for our beloved Oyo State.
