ATTENTION: NON-IMPLEMENTATION OF 2020 GOVERNMENT WHITE PAPER AT THE OKE-OGUN POLYTECHNIC, SAKI (TOPS) – THE NEED TO RETURN THE INSTITUTION TO THE PATH OF PROGRESS .
The joint Action Committee of the three staff Unions (ASUP, SSANIP and NASU) at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki is using this medium to congratulate you on your successful re-election for the second term by the good people of Oyo State for another four impactful years as the Executive Governor of Oyo State. It is not an overstatement to say that under Omituntun 1.0; you demonstrated exemplary leadership, commitment, responsiveness and humility in your quest to transform our dear State better than you found it. While wishing you well and success always, we do not doubt your capacity to do more under Omituntun 2.0; hence, we registered our unalloyed support for this course and project.
Sir, at the meeting of the Joint Action Committee of the three staff Unions at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki (ASUP, SSANIP and NASU), held on the 28th March, 2023, critical issues adversely affecting the Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) and that are slowing down the efforts and good intentions of your presence in this Institution were thoroughly discussed. One of the discussions bordered on the non-implementation of White Paper by the Governing Council.
Sir, it is regrettable, too sad, disappointing, distressing, egregious, and unfortunate that in the last three years that the White Paper had been released by the Oyo State Government to the public, and handed over to the Governing Council of this Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) on the 7th of July 2020, the spirit and letter of the White Paper have not been implemented by the Governing Council, and as such, the laudable reasons for your constitution of the first Visitation Panel and subsequent release of the White Paper were reversed. However, it is equally imperative to bring to your attention that the same White Paper of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa was fully implemented immediately by her Governing Council in the same year, while the Governing Council of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki suppressed the document and kept such a vital Government directives on the shelf for more than three years. The non-implementation of the White Paper at The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki is a clog on the progress and sustainability of the Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) and is adversely affecting the whole academic system daily in so many ways.
Sir, the three staff Unions believe that implementation of this White Paper will return progress, peace, and stability to this Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) as a whole; hence, the Unions pray for your immediate intervention to compel the Governing Council of this Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) to ensure the immediate full implementation of all the recommendations in the Government White Paper within the next fourteen days, and return the Institution (The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki) to the path of peace, justice, progress, and sustainability that you and your administration desired.
