BREAKING: Tinubu holds bilateral meeting with US Secretary

The President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is currently holding a bilateral meeting with Antony Blinken, the Secretary of State of the United States of America at the State House, Abuja.

The US Secretary arrived on Tuesday as part of his four-nation African tour.

Blinken’s itinerary extends beyond Nigeria, encompassing visits to Cape Verde, Ivory Coast, and Angola. The purpose is to reaffirm the U.S. commitment to bolstering relations with democracies in the subregion, a move undertaken against the backdrop of prevailing global crises.

The US top diplomat was received at the forecourt President Tinubu’s office at exactly 6.55pm.

Top government officials who received him include Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; Minister of Foreign Affairs Yusuf Tuggar; Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris and Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake.

After the meeting, he is scheduled to have a joint press conference with the Minister of Foreign Affairs before his departure later this evening for Lagos, where he will meet with the business community.
