Ibadan Explosion: Former deputy governor, others lose homes

Former Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, and some members of his family have been displaced as a result of an explosion that rocked Ibadan on Tuesday.

It was gathered that Iyiola Oladokun and his family members are currently being housed by a friend. A close associate of the former deputy governor, in a short statement, said his house was affected by the explosion.

“The house of the former deputy governor of Oyo State is located in the area where the incident occurred,” the source said. “It is close to the building where the explosion occurred. They have vacated the house.”

The home of the former Attorney General of the Federation, late Chief Bola Ige, was also affected. Another source added that the houses of some staff members of the University of Ibadan were affected.

Meanwhile, the Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the deployment of their tactical teams to the scene of the explosion that happened around the Bodija axis of Ibadan
