FG declares October 1 public Holiday for Independence Day

The Federal Government has announced Tuesday, October 1, 2024, as a public holiday

This is to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the declaration on behalf of the government.
In a statement issued by Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad, praising their resilience and hard work.

He acknowledged the sacrifices of Nigerian men and women, assuring that their efforts will not be in vain.
Tunji-Ojo said, “Nigeria’s independence is a testament to our collective strength. Let us unite to build a brighter future.”
