President Bola Tinubu has yielded to mounting pressure to address the nation amid ongoing hunger protests, now in their third day.

The President will speak to the nation on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at 7:00 am, according to his spokesman Ajuri Ngelale.
The address will be broadcast on Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) networks, with repeat broadcasts at 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
This comes after opposition leaders, including Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, urged the President to address the protesters’ concerns about economic hardship and high living costs, which have sparked demonstrations across Nigeria’s 36 states and Abuja.
