BREAKING: NLC insists on N250k minimum wage

Comrade Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), has reaffirmed that the minimum wage of N250,000 remains unchanged, despite the Federal Government and Organised Private Sector agreeing on a lower figure of N62,000.

According to Daily Trust, President Bola Tinubu had requested time to consult with stakeholders before submitting the new minimum wage bill to the National Assembly.

Following a meeting with labour leaders, including Ajaero and Trade Union Congress (TUC) President Festus Osifo, at the Presidential Villa on Thursday, Ajaero emphasized that the meeting was for discussion purposes only, not negotiation.

The meeting will continue next week, with labour leaders set to consult with their members and return to the Presidential Villa.

While details of the discussions were not disclosed, Osifo confirmed that both parties presented their positions, with the President also sharing his remarks.
