Fasting continues Tuesday as Sultan declares Wednesday Eid-el-Fitri day

The Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, has officially declared Wednesday, April 10, as Eid-el-Fitri day, which means Muslims will continue their fast today..

This was contained in a press release signed by Professor Sambo Junaidu, the Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs to the Sultanate Council.
The statement confirmed that the council has acknowledged the report and officially designated Wednesday as the commencement of Shawwal 1445AH, as stated in a press release in Sokoto.

“His Eminence, the Sultan felicitates with the Nigerian Muslim Ummah and wishes them Allah’s guidance and blessings.
“The Sultan, while urging the Muslim Ummah to continue to pray for peace, progress, and development of the country, also wishes all Muslims a happy Eid-el-Fitri.”
