President Juan Orlando Hernández.
Prosecutors allege Hernández collaborated with cartels, allowing the movement of over 400 tons of cocaine.
He is accused of receiving millions in bribes during his presidency, using them to strengthen his political influence.
Hernández, in office from 2014 to 2022, was extradited in 2022.
The Justice Department claims he protected and enriched his inner-circle traffickers, employing executive power to aid extraditions while favouring those who paid him.
Hernández, denying charges, plans to appeal his conviction.
