Kaduna bombing: How I lost 34 members of my family – Resident

Idris Dahiru, a resident of Tudun Biri in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, revealed the tragic loss of 34 members of his family during the Nigerian Army’s bombardment of the village.

Tragically, over 80 people were reported to have lost their lives when drones from the Nigerian Army mistakenly targeted residents during Sunday’s celebration of Maulud in what appears to be a case of mistaken identity.
Speaking with BBC Hausa Service, Dahiru said the annual Maulud celebration was disrupted by unforeseen airstrikes, adding to the devastating impact on the community.

Dahiru recounted that the initial bomb exploded without warning, claiming the lives of innocent people, including women and children. He lamented that some victims suffered dismemberment due to the force of the blast.
According to him, as they rushed to aid the injured, the jet returned, unleashing a second bomb, adding that this time, many of those who had come to help were among the casualties.

“My family alone has lost 34 members in this tragedy. We have 66 loved ones receiving medical care at Barau Dikko hospital,” Dahiru stated.
