Former US President, Donald Trump is to be arraigned in Manhattan court on Tuesday after he was indicted by the New York Grand Jury.
Trump was indicted on criminal charges in New York for his role in organising hush money payments made to an adult film star during his 2016 campaign.
The history-making indictment by the Manhattan grand jury on Thursday marks the first time a president has been charged in a criminal matter.
According to CNN, Trump is expected to be arraigned in Manhattan criminal court around 2:15 p.m. ET Tuesday.
Officials involved in the planning of Trump’s appearance are considering pausing all other case activity at the court during the time that the former president is expected to appear, according to a source with knowledge of the plans.
An adjournment of all other matters at the courthouse Tuesday afternoon would reduce the amount of foot traffic in the building for security reasons, the source said.
The indictment came as several law enforcement entities are investigating Trump’s conduct in numerous probes.
Trump’s company labeled Cohen’s reimbursement of the payment as a legal expense and did not disclose them in campaign expense reports.
